2005 öhlins shock fits 2010 EC300
Just swapped in my ol' 450 rear öhlins shock, to take the place of my fading sachs shock.
Just wanted to confirm that it fits. //thomas |
I thought the 2010 shocks were shorter?

Yes, '07+ is shorter.

Glenn.
I have a 2005 Ohlins shock on my '07 bike. I was told the Ohlins TTX shock on the '10 bikes are shorter. |
Girard,
'07 shock is shorter than previous, one of the things Hoess did when he rode for GG. The guys at T&C took an '05 swapped the tail section, shortened the shock and presto instant '07. Is your Ohlins longer? Was it shortened? Its not much difference, I think only around 10mm. Maybe the '10 frame is different in the shock mount and they are shorter yet, I don't know. |
Hi will a 03 shock fit a 07 ec250 thanks
|
Yes it will fit as the mounting eye/clevis is the same design, but in stock length raise the rear of the bike. Shortining a shock is no big deal as its done with a simple internal spacer.
Whats wrong with your Sachs? I have an early GG Sachs that has been fine but there were some later ones with changes that did not work as well. If its updated and valved right its every bit as good as the Ohlins IMO, I have had both and they are equal performers. |

I have an early one that was always fine. Apparantly some of the later ones had more problems. Les went through mine anyway and its excellent.

Fit my 03 Ohlins set on my 09. Forks needed the bottom clamp, race, and bearing. Front wheel bearing and axel. Rear shock fit no problem. Definetly was lower but way better the Sachs stock.
