2012 ohlins adjustment. No clicks.

Hello there,

Setting up my new 2012 ec 200. Manual says the ohlins shock has a certain number if clicks on the high speed adjustment. It was turned all the way in (clockwise) when I received the bike. When I turned it counter clockwise there are no clicks. I assume it is like other shocks and uses the number of turns out as a measure of the adjustment. Am I correct in this assumption?

Thanks

Ruh-roh Scooby ... the manual was wrong! The 2012 version of the Ohlins doesn't have high-speed compression adjustment, so if you turned the nut out you actually unscrewed the compression adjuster from the shock body.

I rode with it out 2 turns yesterday. Did I screw anything up? It seemed to handle fine. All though I did not notice any improvement on the high speed side. I believe it is my rebound but I did not have a 3 mm Allen to make any adjustment.

The small adjuster up top is ls compression. There is no external hs adjustment. Turn the nut back in asap.

Ahuh. No External HSC on the 888. Rebound at the bottom, Compression at the top. Snug it back up ASAP! Very dangerous undoing a shock while its still under pressure.

FYI. Disregard the owners manual. Too many inconsistancies, and changes that aren't reflected. Jetting recommendations suck too! This site will be your manual ;)

I promptly returned the pseudo high speed nut back to its original position. Rode 45 miles of single track today and it performed great. Thanks for all the info. As a new gas gas owner I will follow your advice and disregard the inconsistent, inaccurate, "owners manual".

Thanks
