Default Sachs forks - proper way to refill oil?

Hi there:

I'm partway through replacing the forks seals on my '11 EC250 which has the Sachs 48 mm forks. I have a couple of questions about refilling them with fork oil:

- when I pour the oil in, is it important to ensure none gets into the inner hole where the damping adjustment rod goes? Should I keep the rod in place when filling or does it not matter?

- I have seen videos where positive pressure (fork extended, hand over the top, puch top down creating pressure)) is used to get the air out, and others where a vacuum (fork closed, hand over the top, pull bottom down creating a vacum) is used to get the air out... which is correct? Or does it not matter?

Thanks,
Andy

correct, tap the hole with a finger before pouring

as long as you get the air out and have pressure both ways work. Be careful with the first not to extend the leg too much
