Springs for big rider
I have a 2006 Gasgas EC 300, with stock suspension. I have tried to find my bike on the racetech spring calculator, but without luck. They do list an older xc 300. I am 6'5" 300 pounds and would like to buy fork and shock springs. I am willing to have them custom wound, but I'm unsure of the rates I need.

Cannon Racecraft can make springs for you. You should have the suspension revalved as well. I highly recommend Les Tunius at LT-Racing for suspension tuning. And he can help you make a good choice for yiur spring rates as well. The website is www.lt-racing.com Jeff

Still strange racetech only lists 2 bikes, but good that its similar. I'm just a good C rider anyway, so I'm not looking for perfection. According to Racetech, on a 2000 XC300 I need .50 kg/mm fork springs and about 6.7 kg/mm shock spring.
I do plan to get it re-valved in the future, so no worries there.

Just to follow up, do not use the racetech calculator. Its not even close. I ordered the springs and found they are way off. I called LT racing and Checkpoint off road and both agreed for my bike .54 fork springs and either 6.6 or 6.8 shock spring. I now have to send my fork springs back and have .54 custom made.
I will say that Cannon Racecraft is wonderful to work with. Quick shipping, and quick response when I needed them. Very friendly, and while I have to pay for my mistake, their prices are still very good.

I've got racetech recommend on mine and Dr.Shox agrees, riding it is very well balanced, and after the revalve, perfect IMHO. He did mention they ride better with a slightly stiffer rate on the front with less preload (2mm).
