Search in suspension. The KYB SSS incliuding clamps from a YZF is the best way to go.

If you can mount an entire kyb front end on your gg......go for it.

My experiment is fitting the sss within the sachs fork because i came across some cc insert from damaged forks with no wheels or triples.....and because the sachs forks are extremely poor engineering and half decent when valved correctly.

So far the experiment takes some internal mods on the upper cc chamber and the spring guide ( new bushing od).
Most of all the axle insert / bottoming cone....this is total custom.

Got the forks back from pete russel at NOST. Brian Yost machined the bottom cone/adaptor insert to accept the damper rod nut at the axle....thanks Brian.

Pete did all the other mods. Quit a few at that!
I will post some pics soon.

First i need to go ride and test out petes latest technology....pretty excited.

Well the forks were an absolute success. Pete at NOST set these forks up perfect.

Thank you Brian Yost for your help.

So I'm guessing this is no longer an easy or cheap modification?

No. I would not advise it. Get a complete front end only. Many mods to do.....very custom

So we've come full circle.

My questions now are:
-Can re-valved and re-sprung Sachs forks be as good as re-valved and re-sprung Japanese or WP units?
-If not, what are the choices for the very best forks out there?
-If not, what then is the simplest way to achieve front fork nirvana?
-Is there a true bolt on solution?

I've searched and searched and read and read and I just end up with my head hurting....

Imho open cartridge is never as good as closed cartridge if you anything faster than slow, this is the real issue. OC CAN be made to be good enough, but will get scary as it goes deep into the stroke at pace and sits there initially at higher cartridge pressure, eg fast downhill, then hits multiple obstacles quickly and starts to cavitate and act different and nasty to normal, you lose confidence and slow down. The rougher your trails, and faster they are, the worse it is. OC are not that far ahead stiction wise anymore either. Technical slow rocky rooty terrain may give a slight advantage to OC.
