I experienced the opposite once. I lost my rear brakes due to a defective set of pads which allow the friction material to separate. I trail brake as part of my normal riding technique so this was really woke me up as I was entering a high speed turn! I was way out from our staging area and rode it out. At first I was really slow as I'm used to using both and not having the rear felt completely foreign to me. However, as I rode, I got faster and faster until I was riding at a really good clip. It was nice to learn how fast I could go on the front brake alone but I don't wish to do it again!
